In the beginning it was like that, because they had to be. People didn’t want to be identified with a disease that no one understood, and still don’t really understand. There is a stigma behind the title ‘Alcoholic’, that the rest of the world does not get yet.-Anonymous Member

Because people just cant deal with us. People who aren’t aware of our behaviors, they do not understand us. There are a lot of people who look down on our fellowship, because they don’t see the good we are doing. They jump to conclusions and assume we are a bad lot, those who do take the time and ask the questions and come to their own conclusions are usually happy the program exists.-Chris I
